My Experience

I campaigned strongly for a Yes vote in both Lisbon Treaty Referendums.  I was involved as a volunteer with Ireland for Europe. I am currently a member of European Movement Ireland and the Institute of International and European Affairs.

Fine Gael:
Joined UCD Young Fine Gael(YFG) in 2001.
Elected to the National Executive of Young Fine Gael in November 2003. Re-elected in 2004 and 2006.
Held the role of Dublin Organiser of Young Fine Gael from 2003-2007. This encompassed the Local and European Elections in 2004 and the General Election in 2007. Founded new YFG presences in every Dublin constituency during my term in office.
Served in the role of webmaster of the Young Fine Gael website 2005-2007.
Elected Vice-Chair of Dublin South Fine Gael 2005. Re-elected 2006 and 2007.
Elected Constituency Secretary of Dublin South Fine Gael 2008. Re-elected 2009 and 2010.
Member of Dublin South General Election Strategy committee 2006-2007.
Elected by the membership of Young Fine Gael to contest the NUI Panel of the Seanad election on behalf of Young Fine Gael and Fine Gael in 2007. Polled 1632 votes when eliminated on the 15th Count.
Placed on the European Parliament Fine Gael Replacement List for the Dublin Constituency May 2009.
While member of the Young Fine Gael National Executive, co-authored the following policy documents:
“The Hidden Profit” – a detailed proposal outlining infrastructural investment for Ireland.
A National Health Screening Plan with the co-operation of Senator Liam Twomey, proposing preventative screening measures for many diseases, including cervical, breast, prostate and testicular cancers and thyroid disorders.
Open University Proposal outlining how use of technology could be used for an Internet-based third-level education programme.
